Does this load pay?

Profit on a load is the rate minus your cost per mile on every mile it makes you drive, minus bridge tolls and fees. Count the empty miles to the pickup too, because the truck burns the same diesel with or without a load.

How the math works

Trip cost = your cost per mile × (loaded miles + empty miles). Fee = rate × fee %. Profit = rate − trip cost − bridge and tolls − fee.

Profit per mile = profit ÷ all the miles, loaded and empty. Rate per loaded mile = rate ÷ loaded miles, the number brokers quote. The verdict compares profit per mile with the goal you type.

The example is a $4,400 load from Pharr to Chicago: 1,500 loaded miles plus 50 empty, a cost per mile of $2.01, a $35 bridge toll and a 3% factoring fee. Find your own cost per mile with the cost per mile calculator first.
